RE-MANUFACTURE & MACHINE UPGRADES
As well as providing a comprehensive range of onsite services GAC also offers a range of machine upgrade and remanufacturing services to existing and used machines.
MACHINE TOOL REMANUFACTURE
When wheel lathes have lost their accuracy or are breaking down on a regular basis, they can be brought back to their original manufacturer's geometric standards and specifications by reconditioning and replacement of worn parts. GAC Rail completely disassemble the machine, inspect all the components thoroughly and evaluate any remedial work. If necessary, the machine can be relocated to our repair and rebuild facility in Preston, Lancashire which can save a customer the time, expense and inconvenience of an on-site rebuild.
The machine ways are then machined, ground or hand scraped to precision alignment, worn components are repaired or replaced and the machine reinstated to site and commissioned. On completion of the rebuild, thorough testing of all the machines functions is undertaken, to verify the new accuracy and to explain any modifications to the machine operator.
CNC RETROFIT & CONTROL SYSTEM UPGRADE
More and more customers at the 'mid life overall' stage look to extend the life of a an existing wheel lathe by converting or replacing their machine operating system with a new CNC package to enhance accuracy, increase capabilities, improve productivity, consistency and performance. At GAC Rail our mechanical, design, electronic and electrical engineers are specialists in this type of project and have the ability to upgrade most existing CNC machine tools.
