GAC Rail have worked with a wide variety of rail industry machine tool manufacturers over the years. These include Hegenscheidt, Safop, Sculfort, Rafamet and of course Atlas Rail. Our team of dedicated rail industry service engineers have the expertise and knowledge to overhaul any existing machine, and our designers have the ability to meet any requirements for which there is no standard machine tool available.

Wheel lathes that have lost their accuracy or are breaking down on a regular basis can be brought back to their original manufacturers geometric standards through reconditioning and replacement of worn parts. GAC Rail completely disassemble your machine, inspect all the components thoroughly and evaluate. If necessary, the machine can be relocated to our installation in Yorkshire.

The machine ways are then machined, ground or hand scraped to precision alignment. Worn components are repaired or replaced and the machine reinstated to site. Upon completion of the rebuild, thorough testing of all the machines functions is undertaken, to verify the new accuracies and to explain any modifications to the operator. All work is fully documented, guaranteed and backed with over 35 years of experience in machine tool rebuilding.
